Keep the flue open so the sprinklers can do their job. These flue guards bolt to the rear beam of a pallet rack and stop pallets from being pushed back into the longitudinal flue space between back-to-back rows. A fixed, visible flue lets overhead sprinklers reach the floor in a fire, which is what NFPA 13 and the International Building Code ask for, and a documented flue can help at insurance renewal. Four models cover a 3 in. single stop through an 18 in. double stop, all with pre-punched holes and self-drilling screws included.

Single stop or double stop
A single stop mounts on one beam and holds the pallet 3 in. off the beam face. Use it where only one side of the flue needs a stop, or where the two rows are set at different heights. A double stop straddles the flue and holds both rows at once, fixing the gap at 6 in. or 12 in. depending on the model. The heavy duty single stop uses thicker steel for racks that see hard forklift use.

How many do you need
Plan on two per pallet position per level, one near each end of the pallet, so the load cannot pivot past a single stop. A 96 in. bay holding two pallets takes four. For a full aisle, count pallet positions times levels times two. Ships from stock; larger runs ship on a pallet by freight.

What is longitudinal flue space and why does it matter?
It is the gap between the backs of two pallet rack rows placed back to back. Fire codes require it to stay open so sprinkler water can reach the lower levels and the floor. Pallets pushed too far back close the gap, and flue guards stop that from happening.
Single stop or double stop?
A double stop sets the flue between both rows in one piece and is the usual choice for back-to-back racking at matching heights. A single stop suits a single row against a wall, rows at different beam heights, or where you only need to hold one side.
Do they work with wire decking?
Yes. The offset rib lifts the guard clear of the deck and the slot fits over decking wire up to 2 gauge, so they mount over standard wire decks without modification.
What do I need to install them?
