Collapsible plastic bulk containers – the reusable replacement for cardboard gaylords
Fold it flat, ship it back, use it for years. These collapsible bulk containers are heavy-duty HDPE bulk bins that hold up to 1,800 lb, stack four high loaded, and fold to a third of their height when empty. Four-way fork and pallet-jack access, drop-down access doors on the long sides, and a heat-welded base that takes the forklift abuse a cardboard gaylord never survives. Eight sizes on two footprints, black or grey, with matching lids. Sold in lots of 25 or more.

Sizes – named by outside dimensions
Sizes are the outside length, width and height. Inside dimensions, collapsed height and tare weight are in the table. The 48 x 45 line is the standard bulk-container footprint; the 48 x 40 line matches a GMA pallet footprint and ships in grey. Capacity is 1,800 lb on every size.

The 42 and 50 in. tall sizes use an extended-height collar and a storage bottom for the extra volume. All sizes: high-pressure injection-molded HDPE, two-piece compression heat-welded base, all-plastic latches, repairable textured label areas.
Lids
A snap-free top cap keeps dust and weather out and lets you stack loaded containers without crushing the top layer. Order the 48 × 45 lid for the 48 × 45 sizes and the 48 × 40 lid for the 48 × 40 sizes. The 32 × 30 sizes are open-top.
Minimum order, lead time and freight
- Minimum order is 25 containers. Sizes can be combined to reach 25. Orders under 25 will be held while we contact you.
- Lead time: in-stock sizes ship within about a week; production runs are 4 to 5 weeks. We confirm the ship date when we acknowledge your order.
- Freight: containers ship collapsed and stacked on a truck. LTL freight is quoted at checkout from the container weight and collapsed dimensions; for 50 or more, ask us for a truckload rate.
- Truckload pricing: the price drops automatically in your cart once a size reaches its half-truckload quantity (shown in the pricing table above the Add to Cart button). Full truckloads are quoted separately.

What is a collapsible bulk container used for?
Moving and storing loose or bagged product in bulk: automotive and durable-goods parts, distribution and e-commerce returns, food and bakery ingredients, retail replenishment, recycling and scrap. It does the job of a cardboard gaylord on a pallet but folds flat for the return trip and lasts for years.
How much do they hold?
Every size has a 1,800 lb working capacity evenly distributed. Volume runs from 8.7 cu ft on the 32 x 30 x 25 to 46 cu ft on the 48 x 45 x 50. Loaded containers stack four high on the floor.
Which size replaces a standard gaylord box?
A typical 48 x 40 x 36 in. cardboard gaylord is closest to the 48 x 40 x 34 or 48 x 40 x 39 in. sizes; the 48 x 45 x 34 and 48 x 45 x 42 sizes give more volume on nearly the same footprint.
Why is there a 25-container minimum?
These ship collapsed and stacked straight from the production floor, and 25 is the smallest run that makes the freight sensible. You can mix sizes to reach 25, and truckload quantities are priced lower again.
Do they come with lids?
Lids are sold separately for the 48 x 45 and 48 x 40 sizes. The lid rests on the rim, keeps dust and weather out, and lets you stack loaded containers without crushing the top layer.
Are they food safe?
They are molded from HDPE and are used in food and bakery supply chains. For direct food contact, tell us the application when you order and we will confirm the resin and any liner requirement.
