What is in each kit
- Starter kit: two posts plus one rail (18 in system) or two rails (42 in system)
- Add-on kit: one post plus one rail (18 in) or two rails (42 in) to extend an existing run
- Four ½ in Grade 5 bolts, washers and lock washers per rail, with stainless threaded inserts pre-installed in the posts
- Four ¾ in concrete wedge anchors per post, plus post caps and snap-in button plugs
Rail lengths are measured on post centers. Posts are 4¾ x 4¾ x 3/16 in steel on a 10 x 10 x ½ in footplate; rails are 12 in high, 1/8 in thick and double-ribbed. Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a starter kit and an add-on kit?
A starter kit has two posts and the rail or rails between them, so it stands on its own. An add-on kit has one post and the rails that reach back to the last post of the run. Buy one starter kit per run, then one add-on kit per additional rail length.
How do I work out how many kits I need?
Divide the run length by the rail length you want (rails are measured on post centers, from 24 to 120 in). The first length is a starter kit and every length after it is an add-on kit. The configuration calculator above does the arithmetic for 8 to 40 ft runs.
Are the floor anchors included?
Yes. Every post ships with four ¾ in concrete wedge anchors, and every rail ships with its four Grade 5 mounting bolts.
Single rail or double rail?
The 18 in single-rail system marks off walkways, machinery and storage zones at knee height. The 42 in double-rail system is the choice wherever forklifts travel: dock doors, in-plant offices, inventory protection zones and rack ends.
Can I turn a corner or add a gap for foot traffic?
Yes. Every post is punched on all four sides, so a corner is just another add-on kit mounted at 90 degrees. Lift-out rail cuffs for a removable section, and custom rail lengths, are available on request.
