Pallet rack column protectors – floor-mounted steel column guards for 3 in uprights
Take the hit so the upright does not. These pallet rack column protectors wrap around the base of an upright and bolt to the floor in front of it, so a forklift or pallet jack strike lands on 3/16 in steel instead of the rack frame. They fit the 3 in wide uprights used by most rack brands and come in 12, 18 and 24 in heights. The four concrete wedge anchors are included.

Installation
- Set the guard around the base of the upright, square to the aisle.
- Mark and drill the four footplate holes for ½ in wedge anchors.
- Set the anchors and torque the nuts; check the guard clears the pallet and the first beam.

Are anchors included?
Yes. Each column protector ships with four ½ in concrete wedge anchors for the four 5/8 in holes in its footplate.
Will it fit my rack?
The standard guard fits 3 in wide uprights with footplates up to 3¾ in wide, which covers most teardrop and structural rack. Measure the upright and its footplate before ordering. For enlarged seismic footplates, use the seismic column guard; for other column widths, ask us for a custom size.
Do I have to remove the rack footplate?
No. The guard is shaped to fit around the upright and its footplate and anchors to the floor on its own plate.
Which height should I choose?
Choose the tallest guard that still sits below your first beam level. 18 in suits most warehouses; go to 24 in in high-traffic aisles and at the end of rows, and 12 in where the first beam is low.
How many do I need?
One per upright you want to protect. Most facilities start with the uprights facing the main aisles and the ends of rows, then add the rest.
