What are the seatbelts for?
Holding the load to the pallet without stretch wrap. The belts anchor into the pallet body and buckle over the load, the same principle as a cargo strap but built in so nothing gets lost between trips. In automotive parts handling, where the same racks and containers cycle between plants continuously, that removes a consumable and the labour of applying it from every single movement.
How do I choose between 2 belts and 4?
Two belts on the 48-inch side, two on the 45-inch side, or four for both directions. Choose by which way your load wants to shift. A tall narrow load needs restraint across its narrow axis; an unstable stack of parts usually needs both. If the load is heavy and expensive and the trip is long, four belts is cheap insurance against damage.
Can I use it as a plain pallet?
Yes. The no-belt configuration is a straightforward 48x45 structural pallet at 5,000 lb dynamic and 20,000 lb static, and it is substantially cheaper than the belted versions. Buy that one if you only need the footprint.
Is the automotive pallet rack rated?
No. The 20,000 lb static figure applies to the pallet sitting on a solid floor. This model carries no published rack rating. Automotive returnable programs generally block stack or use dedicated racking with decking, so this rarely comes up – but if the pallet is going into beams, use a rack-rated model.
Why 48x45 instead of 48x40?
Five extra inches of depth. Automotive parts containers and dunnage are often sized past 40 inches, and overhang on a returnable programme means damage every cycle rather than once. 48x45 is a common footprint in automotive supply chains for exactly that reason.
